Eché Janga

Eché Janga studied Media & Culture at the University of Amsterdam, after which he completed the study ‘camera’ at the Open Studio. He then set about doing a film project with two friends, producing, writing and directing it themselves. Their feature film SUBJECTS was shot in Ireland and London. Eché sent in the raw material to the Netherlands Film And Television Academy and was accepted.

 

In 2010 he graduated with the feature film MO. This film was the start of his professional career as a film director. MO won multiple awards at several festivals in Europe. Soon after his graduation he made several short films. He then went on to direct his first true feature length film: HELIUM. HELIUM garnered four nominations at the Netherlands Film Festival did win two Golden Calves. Eché decided to gain more experience by directing multiple television series and commercials for production company CZAR Amsterdam.

 

Around the same time he started writing himself. This resulted in his own drama series (now in development) and his latest feature film BULADÓ. Buladó did win the most important film award in the Netherlands, best film 2020 and won the NYCFF festival in New York 2021.
